S1-S3 BGE
Pupils in S1, S2 and S3 will undertake a broad general education in Science that lays a foundation of core principles which can be further explored and expanded upon during studies for National Qualification courses in later years.
Through studying the basic concepts of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, pupils can develop an understanding of the world around them and gain essential transferable vocational skills.
Over the course S1 to S3, pupils will study many different topics, covering Physics, and Biology Chemistry.
S1
By the end of S1, pupils will have studied:
- Body Systems
- Energy
- Matter
- Heat and Light
- Cells and Inheritance
S2
By the end of S2, pupils will have studied:
- Biodiversity and Interdependence
- Electricity
- Acids and Metals
- Microbiology
- Forces
S3
In S3 all pupils will follow a broad general education, with courses taught in their discrete subjects covering level 4 Biology, Chemistry and Physics outcomes and experiences.
