Kelly Bruce and Corinne Allan from Castlemilk Youth Complex are based each day at Castlemilk High School to provide home-link and youth work support to our young people and their families.
Castlemilk Youth Complex was established in 1998, and was set up as the first youth arts facility of its kind in Europe. Currently, the Youth Complex prides itself in being a model of best practice in all aspects of youth work and community development.
Today, the partnership with Castlemilk High School enables the provision of a 'wrap-around service', where a pupil can access a soft start approach to the day, seek support at any point throughout the school day, and then participate in recreational activity in the evening. The youth work staff team work across the school day into the evening, and then are present in school the following morning, offering support to pupils who have issues at home or in the community.
