Background

Castlemilk High was formed in 1990 by the merger of Glenwood and Grange Schools in August 1990. As part of Glasgow City Council's Project 2002 the construction of a new building was completed in December 2001. Castlemilk High now offers a 21st century building with superb facilities for learning and teaching.

Castlemilk High was inspected by HMIE inspectors in March 2008 and recieved six 'excellent' ratings. Of the remaining 11 indicators eight were rated 'very good', two 'good' and one adequate. This evaulation is the best ever for Glasgow Secondary and one of the best for any school in Scotland.
