National 4/5 Biology
Here at Castlemilk High, we are running the National 4 and National 5 Biology courses together.
The course is made of three units:
Unit 1 – Cell Biology
Unit 2 – Multicellular Organisms
Unit 3 – Life on Earth
The course itself is continually assessed to ensure that the pupils meet the standard to pass the course. There will be an end of unit test for each unit set at grade C level that must be passed in order to sit the final exam.
In addition to this, there is an Added Value Unit for National 4 and a course work Unit for National 5. Pupils at both National levels will choose a topical area of Biology relevant to the course to examine and report on. Finally, pupils will be asked to produce formal Science reports for each unit.
CfE Higher Human Biology
The Higher Biology course is made up of three units, each of which is assessed in school using an SQA assessment.
