Course Descriptions

S1-S3 BGE Physical Education

 The course is comprised of approximately 6 week blocks of the following activities:
 
  • Athletics
  • Badminton
  • Basketball
  • Fitness
  • Football / Netball
  • Gymnastics
  • Volleyball
Areas taught include:
  • Fitness - Health and body matters, including fitness testing and training procedures

  • Gymnastics - Floor agilities and sequencing, progressing to apparatus work

  • Games - Skill development in isolation through drills and practicies. Application of skills in game situations with consideration of tactical concepts

  • Skill evaluation - Observe and describe actions with the aim of improving physical performance as well as knowledge and understanding

  • Knowledge and Understanding - application of rules, tactics and basic principles of play.
