The 3Bs

Bringing together generations and creating opportunities for personal development, the 3Bs is partnership programme between Ardenglen Housing Association and Castlemilk High School. On the last Tuesday of the month a group of pupils from the school get ready to meet their new friends at the Maureen Cope Hall where volunteers and the pupils work together to provide a fun afternoon for the Younger at Heart residents from Ardenglen.

Whilst a group of the pupils get dropped off at the hall and work with the volunteers to prepare soup and refreshments for the Young at Heart Residents, the rest of the pupils head out into the community in the minibus to pick everyone up at their homes.

Pupils are developing personal skills such as responsibility, citizenship, building relationships and organisational skills whilst taking part in delivering a blethter, a bite and a game of bingo (3Bs).

January 2015 saw pupils researching Robert Burns and reading a Scots poem and giving out facts on the famous Scotsman’s life. And with local MSP James Doran in attendance and reciting a favourite of his own, a great time was had by all.

We will be continuing this project this year.
