"Preparation for Audition" with the Royal Conservatoire
Four S5/6 pupils attended the Royal Conservatoire on Wednesday 13th November to participate in a ‘Preparation for Audition’ course. They are planning to leave school in June to follow careers in Performance (Musical Theatre/Acting) and are being given the place free of charge to encourage pupils from a less affluent area to follow their ambitions.
Auditioning can be a nerve-wracking experience, particularly for those coming to it for the first time. We offer two weekend courses tailored to introduce students to the process of auditioning and aims to build confidence.
Tutors, knowledgeable about the audition process, aided pupils in looking closely at their own acting, voice and movement techniques. The audition preparation courses are ideal for young people aged 15 to 16 years old looking to study drama or who are interested in working in working in theatre, film or television.
All of our pupils gained a lot from the day and enjoyed the experience.
