Scottish Power Foundation
Scottish Power has set up a foundation to manage their charitable giving. This enabled six S2 pupils from both Castlemilk High School and King’s Park High School to participate in a 5-day residential course.
The pupils stayed in the Outward Bound Centre based in Loch Eil, near Fort William. The activities they experienced included hill-walking, canoeing, raft-building and problem-solving challenges
The course had four main outcomes, and as a result the pupils have:
-Started to develop key employability skills including, team working, self-management, problem solving, communication and goal setting.
-Improved self-awareness of their strengths and developed the confidence to make positive decisions
-Increased their resilience and developed a growth mindset so they are more able to cope with life challenges and are willing to take risks
-Increased their understanding of how their actions have a consequence on their short and medium term future.
The S2 pupils who participated were David Arendark , Chloe Elliot , Michela Hardie, Tegan McGlone, Jackson O’Kane and Suzanne Taggart.
Well done!
