Take a Drink
Take a Drink
Last Thursday saw S5/6 & S2 watch Drama performance called “Take a Drink”. The drama is funded and supported by the NHS and was performed by actors from PACE Theatre Company. The drama tells the story of three young people (Michelle, Ann Marie & Paul) who go to a party and have very different experiences because of alcohol.
After the performances there was a question and answer session with one of the actors, where pupils were able to ask any questions about alcohol or about any of the characters in the show. PACE Theatre commented on both audiences being very receptive but particularly our S2 who engaged fully in the Q& A session.
The drama is being shown to all schools across Glasgow (to S2 and S5 pupils).
Pupils (and staff) who seen the performance all agreed that it was an excellent production and an ideal way to get across the important messages around the dangers of excess drinking, keeping yourself and your friends safe and being responsible.
Glasgow Council on Alcohol will come in at a later date to deliver workshops to the S2 pupils around the messages highlighted in the show.
