News this week from Castlemilk High, (wk. 18/8/14)

 

·         We received a phone-call about two S1 boys, who were seen helping an old lady who had fallen. The boys will receive a Citizenship Certificate at assembly on Monday.

 

·         Students from the Law society are in school today working with S4 Modern Studies pupils.

 

·         The school roll is currently 438 with a chance of increasing slightly before census day in September.

 

·         The Youth Complex held a referendum debate on Tuesday night where Charles Lang, a former pupil spoke alongside Tom Harris MP and James Dornan.  Many of our pupils attended. It will be followed up next Tuesday with an open –mic  night.  All welcome.

 

·         The cheer-leader/ gymnastics club got off to a fabulous start after school on Thursday with 30 x S1/S2 girls participating (and one boy). The instructors are our own S4 pupils.

 

·         Mr Munro and Mrs King met with Parent Council this week. We discussed the SIP priorities, the charities committee and budget. The September meeting will be the AGM after which they will decide on their fund-raising activities for the year.

 

·         Mrs Campbell’s’ newly formed Charities Committee has had a great response from staff.
