Scottish Power and Outward Bound project.
Six S2 pupils went Loch Eli for 5 days next week on an Outward Bound course with a similar group from Kingspark High School. The focus this week was team-building and problem solving.
Pupils with an aptitude for Science and Maths are being given the chance to join this project. The Outward Bound project aims to help young people realise their potential through Outdoor. They are working in collaboration with Scottish power to address a skills gap in the energy sector for engineers and take part in a 5 day residential course at very little cost to their schools. Scottish Power and the Outward Bound Trust fund this to promote STEM careers. Scottish Power is using this to help develop future engineers. It is a great opportunity for our pupils.
