Working to break Islamophobia
S2 classes in RME and Social Subjects engaged with speakers from the Amina-Muslim Women's group to discuss the issue of Islamophobia on Tuesday 12th November 2013. Social Subjects and RMPS have been working together examining examples of discrimination towards Muslims often caused by negative stories in the media and a lack of understanding of other peoples beliefs. Then on Thursday 14th November, this was followed up by reporters from the Daily Record taking some pictures and interviewing some pupils from 2N’s, whose behaviour was outstanding and impressed the reporters.
