·         A group of S3 pupils had the opportunity to participate in a Digital Makers Showcase event at the Glasgow Science Centre on Tuesday afternoon along with Rosie.  They were able to present their work articulately and may even be part of the publicity for the event judging by the time spent on photo shoots.

 

·         Four girls took part in an engineering event at Glasgow City Chambers on Monday along with Mary and organised by Mr Shaw. This is a further opportunity for promotion of STEM subjects for girls. As well as problem solving tasks the girls met with engineers to find out about careers in engineering.

 

·         The National 5 Administration practical exam took place on Monday with 100% attendance which followed on from a study morning on Saturday with Mr Dickie

 

·         A ‘Money Management’ workshop was delivered by RBS as part of the S3 Princes Trust course on Tuesday to help build their skills for life.

 

·         Congratulations to Mr G. McLean who has been appointed Acting FH English and Modern Language in Mr Hindson’s absence.

 

·         Wonderful news from Miss McEwan about the birth of her baby girl ‘Lola’ on Sunday – 7lb 13oz –and a day early. Congratulations.

 

·         The cheerleaders were successful in their bid for £500 from the Youth Bank Trust. This money will be spent on costumes for the competition in June.

 

·         As part of their Uganda fundraising activities some pupils are organising a Tea Party for all CHS staff, the LoL’s and Gateway as well as the pensioners from Ardenglen which takes place today in the library from 10.15,

 

·         The 2nd of the S3 Focus West Campus Day visits was on Thursday 26th March at Langside Campus.

 

·         The National 5 Drama Practical exam takes place this morning. -100% attendance.

 

·         The options interviews with S2 start today meaning another extremely busy time for the pastoral care staff following on from the S5/6 option interviews.  

 

·         A presentation on Blood Donation was delivered to S6 pupils on Tuesday organised by Mr Weir. A few pupils have now decided to become blood donors as a result of the presentation.

 

·         The girls’ football team won the league on Tuesday! Mr Dixon and Mr Paterson report that two pupils were outstanding. Well done.
