Another very busy week in the life of CHS,

·         Attendance was around 90%.(just)

·         Some of our pupils represented the school at the Glasgow Badminton Championships on Thursday at the Emirates Arena. They had a great day. The Under 14 team finished 2nd in their age group winning the majority of their games and the under 19 team finished 3rd.  All players had fantastic games and gave every school a hard game.

·         On Sunday Mrs Campbell and a small group of pupils held the creche for the families attending the Yorkhill memorial service for their children who have sadly died over the years. Not only did they entertain them but provided the games, crafts and sweets.

·         The S2 Enhanced Curriculum Football class visited a Youth Football Academy on Wednesday.

·         Santander delivered a workshop to the S4 Princes Trust class on personal finance.

·         More good news on grant applications. Mr Munro received £1,000 for the School Bike Club the Glasgow City Charitable Trust.

·         Pupils along with Mrs McKenna  and Mrs Makar performed to the  pensioners at The Thistle Pensioner Group.  An S4 pupils also presented them with a large ‘Frozen’ art work she had completed. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

·         All of S2 attended an excellent lecture yesterday afternoon delivered by practicing criminal defence lawyers and a drama production by our seniors called ‘Art and Part’. The big message being the culpability of others and not just the person who has carried out a stabbing. The S2 response was outstanding with the questions they asked and their participation in the discussions. In my absence Irene introduced the lecture and said how much she enjoyed working with Mr Malone (ex Headteacher) who has been delivering this across all Glasgow Schools.

·         Welcome to Miss Ward in Maths.

·         Safe journey to the skiers who leave after school today bound for Pila with a long bus journey and ferry crossing tonight.

·         The winning anti-bullying poster , won by an S4, will be displayed across the school.
