Here is a mini-newsround from the week ending 16th May 2014.

 

·         S4 pupils Demi Shannon and Courtney Richardson presented a talk to the local GHA Committee on Monday as part of in their "Tomorrows' Citizen Project". 

 

·         A group of S2 pupils visited the  Camas Centre on the Isle of Mull along with Mr Dixon and the school chaplain. Here pupils  participated in a number of activities to help them overcome social, emotional and behaviour barriers. Our school chaplain sourced funds to help cover the cost giving the pupils a fantastic opportunity which could now lead to an annual event. 

 

·         The first S2 Croft Group were away Monday 12th – Friday 16th May with Mr Hindson, Miss White and Miss Cocquerel. All the pupils were fantastic, even ate their vegetables, and the group had great weather during their stay in Gairloch! the weather has been great.

 

·         Mr S. McLean and Mr Dixon were successful in their bid to the Lord Provost Fund for additional funding for the pupils on the Manchester United Trip being awarded £1,500 this week!

 

·         Our PE student has started an after school Irish Dancing club with great uptake and interest shown from the pupils.

 

·         The S4 National 4 pupils attended their second week at Glasgow Caledonian University continuing on from their fantastic experience of last week. We have added to their challenge as they now have to make their own way home!

 

·         Friday 16th May saw  the PE Department working with primary schools in a “Sports Inspire day” at the local sports centre – another great transition opportunity.
