Castlemilk Pupils Say "Aye Write"!
Lots of Castlemilk High pupils enjoyed visits to the Aye Write litera
ture festival last week.
On Wednesday, the S1 football team met football writer
Tom Palmer
, who told us all about his writing career, as well as holding a Football Reading Quiz and a penalty shoot-out. In the library!
Thursday saw an outing for members of the school magazine club, who had the honour of meeting and interviewing
Jonathan Meres
, author of
The World of Norm
series. The interview will appear in the first issue of the Glasgow school library magazine,
Yaldi!,
which will be out in May.
The end of a great week was marked by a talk from Andrew Lane, author of the
Young Sherlock Holmes
series. He told us how he developed the character of Sherlock before he became very grumpy and clever!
