Some  news of the week,

 

·         Attendance was around 93% this week

 

·         The S4 Princes Trust group attended a session at the CITB College on Monday 17th November 2014 as part of their World of Work module.  They also had the opportunity to visit a pupil’s father’s work on Tuesday 18 November 2014 as part of their course.

 

·         The Library writers group watched Harry Potter’s Philosophers Stone with Mary.

 

·         On Thursday 20th November 2014 Cambuslang Rugby Club delivered taster sessions to all S1 and S2 pupils.

 

·         Three senior pupils addressed the congregation at Castlemilk Praise on Sunday 16th November 2014 along with Mrs Campbell to promote the forthcoming Uganda Humanitarian Project. They received almost £200.00 cash donations in their buckets at the end

 

·         The School show Production Committee met Wednesday 5th November 2014 for an initial meeting to select a school show for next year. It has been decided to do ‘Disco Inferno’ scheduled for performance in the week leading up to the October holiday in 2015.

 

·         Pupil councils have taken place this week

 

·         30 x S3 pupils attended the Science Centre on Thursday 20th November 2014 to continue to  promote the interest and enjoyment  of STEM subjects

 

·         An S5 pupil has secured a Modern Apprenticeship as a Nursery Nurse with Heathdene Nursery in Cathcart. She gave a good account of herself at her trial day, and Carousel Training will put her through the SVQ Level 3.

 

·         Anti- bullying week has been discussed at all assemblies this week and voting has taken place each interval and lunch time to find the best anti-bullying poster which the school will then use.

 

·         We received a lovely thank you letter from the Phoenix Day Centre, thanking the school and pupils for their musical performance a few weeks ago.

 

·         The gardeners have chosen the greenhouse they wish to purchase (gifted by Mrs Lochray), which can now be ordered. An S4 pupil has written to Mrs Lochray to thank her.
