Schools of Ambition - Higher Chemistry trip to Glasgow University

On Thursday 14th February 2013, Higher Chemistry pupils from St Margaret Mary's School and Castlemilk High School attended a trip to visit Glasgow University and the School of Chemistry. The pupils were given a campus tour by a current student where they visited "The Cloisters" and Quadrant, the Union and University Sports facilities.

Next, the pupils were greeted by Professor of Learning Teaching and Assessment (Chemistry), Bob Hill. He began by explaining the history of Chemistry at Glasgow University, what you can study and the degree pathways that this can lead into. Proffessor Hill also showed the students around two active undergraduate laboratory classes as well as several working research laboratories, a Nuclear Magnetic Resonace machine and an Electron Scanning Microscope.

The staff and pupils would like to give a big thank you to Professor Hill, and all the staff they met, for making their visit so enjoyable.
