Senior CERN trip

We are very proud that one of our sixth-year pupils, Ross, has won the chance to visit CERN, the European Laboratory for Particle Physics in Switzerland.

Dr Aidan Robson from Glasgow University, which runs the competition in association with The Ogden Trust and CERN, said, "We were very impressed by the interest and passion for physics shown by all the entrants.  Scotland has strong links with CERN and we hope that seeing first-hand the place where the Higgs boson was discovered will inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers."

Ross will spend three days at CERN along with nine pupils from nine other schools in the west of Scotland, and will visit some of the lab's famous experiments and facilities, as well as meeting Scottish physicists there.

All the best Ross!
