Mini-newsround 9-12-13
Here are some stories from the week beginning 9th December.
· The Mitchell Library visit for Higher English/History/Focus group pupils went well with Mr Mclean and Mrs Heffron. The pupils gained experience on the relevant use of the library when engaged on further study.
· Ruth from the Youth Stress Centre delivered exam stress workshops to Andrew’s S5 Focus group. They now have lots of coping strategies for exam preparation.
· The Gardening Planning group of pupils and teachers met on Wednesday after school – the initial ideas are now on display in the office and they look impressive. They also visited Hillpark’s garden for ideas last night.
· The Uganda selection has been taking place this week based on the pupils application forms and their references – the process is not quite finished yet.
· Similarly, the selection process for the 22 free places at the Blairvadach Outdoor Centre weekend in January has been taking place this week, S1-S4. PE will let us know who the successful pupils are.
· S2 have had the opportunity today to have a practice run at course choices for S4 and S3. This information will help inform next session’s timetable as well as improve progression pathways.
