Castlemilk High wins CABEC!
These second year pupils won a Scottish Government supported event for Construction Skills called Construction & Built Environment Challenge (CABEC). The final was held at Hampden Park, Glasgow on the 24th January 2012.
The Scottish Government with support from ConstructionSkills, SummitSkills and associated partners hopes that the CABEC West challenge – which has successfully run across schools in Edinburgh and the Lothians for over a decade – enjoys similar success and becomes a major event in the Glasgow and West of Scotland’s schools calendar.
The team had to work together to complete a series of practical exercises including constructing a PV solar powered irrigation system, planning the Riverside Museum, assembling a garden shed, completing a ceramic jigsaw, levelling exercise, building a pagoda and solving plumbing and electrical challenges.

The teams were judges by a series of industry expert who watched as each team completed their various task. Their success was measured both on ability to complete the task correctly and their team work.
